Could anyone tell me how they have been purchasing Hard Drive replacments for the NAM upgrade to 4.1 scenario? I see Nortel makes a 540MB(part# NTAB1348)and something they are calling a "Primary Hard Drive" for VMail V 4.1(part# NT5B74AADC).

Any thoughts or experiences in this process would be much appreciated. Thanks..

careful with what harddrive you get. It is not as simple as slapping a large drive with upgraded software in an old machine.
If your nam is dvc (copper) the drive you order from nortel may not come with the drivers for the dvc card.
If you have a nam 1 the largest drive it will support is 540M
If your nam is a nam II with a 1.2G drive I don't think it will support a later 2.1G drive (I have had trouble swapping some new drives into earlier machines- they won't boot)

Actually, on the old copper NAMs I've installed hard drives that were 1GB with no problems. It requires a hard drive with a minimum of 540MB to upgrade to R4.1. The NAM will also require a minimum of 16MB of RAM.

So do I need to purchase these products from Nortel?

Yes, you would need to purchase these products from nortel (even though the cost of them is through the roof)
That way you can be assured of getting something that will work and is supported.
