I recently got a new laptop with win2000 pro. The setup instructions for a direct serial in dial-up networking in the readme file on the cdrom are for 95-98. Win200 pro
is very different in particular he option to cancel call if not connected is supposed to be set to 0 seconds. Win2000 pro will only accept a setting of 1-255. Has any successfully accoplished a diect connection on win2000 pro or win XP?
I would appreciate any and all sugestions

does the nam you are trying to connect to have a nic card?? If it does make a cross over cable (patch cord into nam->cat5 jack as type A -> short length cat5 cable -> cat5 jack as type B -> patch cord into laptop) set the ip address on the laptop to 192.168.110.15 and (now things are getting fuzzy) open voicemail manager and connect to 192.168.110.10 (default ip for the nam)

Another possible solution if you still run into trouble is to upgrade the NAM to 4.1 and edit the class of service through the phone. If your sw is 4.0 now all you will need is the 4.1 application software no keycode upgrade. Again only if you have a backpack CD rom drive and the sw.
