I have a customer that has a NAM. I have little experience with it but it seems pretty similar to the call pilot. My question is this: They requested a dial by name option, and I thought that it was the # key like the call pilot, but it turns out I was wrong. What needs to be done to activate the dial by name option?

Thanks

When we installed a new Nam. A Dial by Name package came with it of a diskette, a setup manual and user guides. This kit was made by Cintech. Most of the time they werent installed and just left with the customer. The main Feature code that DBN used was Feature 960. If its not already installed I dont know where you could get a diskette and kit from. Maybe Cintech.

Should still be there. What happens when you press # out of AA? There is a toggle under Ftr983, that will turn the directory off. Just try all choices, if it doesn't do what you want press * and it will go back one step.

Press 4 when you get into f983. Should be there. And it is # for dbn dir. You also have the option, like the cp, to use first, last, or both names.

Bob3470- I've never gotten a disk with seperate directory software with a NAM. Was that part of an ACD package?

I agree with Bob, use to come with about 4 to 5 floppys. Threw it in the corner, and never installed one.

I seem to recall it came with only one diskette. You would hit F 915 and password and Admin and go down to H Application Install and insert the floppy. We would install it that far if requested and then a trainer would come and train the customer on it.

This was the kit one diskette and a few user cards a couple of booklets. This came with every new Nam. Most in my area were not installed.

Yeah, those do look familiar. I don't remember the last one we received that with, though. All of the later NAM's we installed must have come preloaded.

Does anyone have a source on those disks, given how outdated they are? I would like to add that feature on my NAM.

The ones I have are maybe 10 years old. You could try contacting Cintech and see if they can help you.

We had a box full of them in our old warehouse before we moved. I'll take a look on Monday, and post again if we didn't pitch them.
