We've got an ACD/NAM combo unit at a client location. they need a NAM installed (fiber) to increase port usage. I know how to view used ports - used by NVM - but is there a way to tell what the ACD is using? I haven't been on site yet.

With the existing setup - can I add a NAM voice mail unit (fiber) with a NVM already in place? Or do I need to upgrade ports?

Anyone have an ACD programming guide? I've got every NVM brochure and programming guide I can think of, but no ACD.

Thanks for the help!

Yes, you can add a second NAM. In fact it is recommended.
Nortel no longer supports a co-resident ACD/Voice-mail NAM.
There is a procedure for disabling voicemail on the first NAM so that you can go to 2 NAMS.
Sorry, but I don't have any ACD manuals except for very ancient ones that are very outdated.

Dave, I ment to add that we need to know what ver. of software is currently on the NAM to be able to give you the proper procedure for removing the v-mail.

I can get that updated to 4.0.04c, that's not a problem.

I did a little more investigating, and on the feature 983 (44) it's coming up with 8 ports. I don't want to lose the amount of VM ports, or is that the same as ACD AND VM ports?

Can I just add on a second NAM, and how does that work? Does it use the first NAM's capabilities and then roll over? Or does everything have to be on one NAM at a time? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to solve a problem.

Main objective is to gain ports on the ACD side.

Daveyboy2,
To be completely honest, I have not been down the road to increase the ACD ports. Someone else will have to help you there.
But to help some, no, the setup is not a rollover type of thing. You put all of your ACD on one NAM, and the v-mail on the other NAM. I can help with getting the v-mail off of the first NAM if you take that route.
