Has anyone upgraded a 4.0 to 4.1 and not needed to enter a key code?

Somehow I thought 4.1 was a patch to 4.0 and therefore no key code needed however....I forget!

If you have done so what is the procedure....is it the same but ignore the key code?.

You absolutely do not need to enter a key code to go from 4.0 to 4.1. You do need the diskette and CD, but no key code. That is necessary when going from 3.0 to 4.1

When I upgraded from 4.04A or 4.04C to 4.1.05 I needed a Keycode. BagsNYC, what are you doing differently??

I have seen R4.0 NAMs that needed keycodes to go to R4.1, and others that did not. You can tell if the keycode is installed by logging into F915 and then scroll to "Software upgrades" to view the keycode (if any). These keycodes are not expensive.

We are going from 4.0.04C to 4.1

I know this question was asked before and there were yes and no answers at that time however SEARCH was down at time of my question and they said it is under construction however today it simply does not work.

Will let you know the results today of the upgrade!

Thanks for the answers.

Cheers

All of our NAM's start at 4.0. Load NVM Security Installation Boot Diskette and NVM 4.1 Application Software CD. Once complete, tones will beep and you are on your way..Pretty simple quite frankly.

Well I did ask for the procedure but too late now.... my tech did the upgrade to the "T" according to the the upgrade procedure sheet and it did ask him to enter the Key code.

So I suppose the procedure in future is to ignore the beginning of the sheet by accessing ACCESS and to just reboot the NAM with Security disk in the drive AND the CD attached.

Thanks anyway people.

Actually, I have the Nortel upgrade procedure guide and it indicates that the NVM Security Keycode must be completed on a NAM with NVM 3.0 or EARLIER software versions

Thanks Bags....I will look at that sheet when the tech gets back and point it out to him.....looks like some techs here are reading the procedure but not the notes and thats why they think it does not work or have problems.

Good lessons!
