Customer is using their personal MB to offer their callers the ability to transfer to their cell phones by selection 7 within their MB. Since this is using the system to LINK there is at times a volume problem once the connection is made. Plus it it using up their C/O lines.

Can this function FLASH, dial then release instead of LINKing the callers so the C/O maintains the connection using C/O based Centrex Tansfer?

The staff is currenting using the flash button to manually transfer callers to cells via Centrex Trasfer.

You will always loose volume when you connect two pots lines together (Centrex or regular pots). There is nothing you can do about it.

Yes, but can this be done with a Centrex flash transfer in the dialing string?

this can be done using link transfer, not tying up any lines.
See "Reference Guide" for instructions for user to set up dialing string. It is listed under outbound transfer....external transfer.

You still will loose volume because the transfer is to a cell phone. If it was to another centrex line associated with the original site (transfered at the CO), the volume will be fine.

Using a "link' transfer will not be any different than actually calling the cellphone from your set. There should be no loss other than the normal crappy cell phone connection.A "link " transfer doesn't require the called number to be centrex...only the originating number.

This is not programming a button for External Dialing this is once the caller has entered the ext. users mailbox and is hearing his private message and gives the caller the option to press 7 for an outbound transfer to his cell. There is not LINK option from what I can hear when changing user options within a voice mail box. I do know of a LINK option in the TELCO menu under system programming is this what you mean.

If you could provide the step by step I would appreciate it cause I am now confused.

Thanks!

P.S> I am referring to the OutBound TRansfer Menu located within each users own MB. From what I hear a FLASH prior to dialing the number is not listed as an option.

if you look at the "Reference Guide" that came with the Call Pilot or Norstar Voice Mail CD you will see instructions on how to set up outbound transfer using a link transfer to an external number. If you can "link" transfer manually, and you have the appropriate version of NVM or Call Pilot, then you can set up outbound transfer to do the same.

In the number that is programmed in the mailbox (F981), include # before the number. This will instruct the voicemail to "Flash" the line prior to dialing the digits. Make sure the lines have the "flash transfer" ability first.
