NAM 4.0.04A not sending calls to mailboxes

Hello all,
Here's my problem. Have a Norstar MICs 6 version 30BwE02 NAT with Norstar NAM 4.0.04A. Calls come in and go to CCR tree. If caller presses, say "3" to go to a scheduling desk, the caller wraps back and gets the main CCR tree HOME greeting. If a caller dials the extension he wants, either because he knows it or he has pressed #, gone to the directory, typed in the first few letters of the last name and confirmed the find, the caller hears the recorded name "Jon Smith", followed by the NAM lady saying "is not available.Please leave a message at the tone". You don't get tone. You are sent back to the HOME greeting of the CCR tree. Each phone's fna/busy is set to go to VM. I'm told by one person this is a known problem and that there is a patch. The NAM was purchased used. Please help. With an explanation at least. THANKS
