NAL key in registry

I have a question about the NAL key located in the servers registry.

Can I use the NAL key from a SMS2.0 server running NT40 into a different SMS2.0 NT4 server.

Someone removed the NAL key before backing it up on the box and we're trying to avoid reinstalling SMS for a regkey replacement.
