HI!

I can't seem to get my BCM to dial a european number.
I have this bcm set at home with voip provider and using a pool line code 8 for the blocE.

I remove any sort of restriction to a specific sets all restriction are 00 for all the schedule, remove all the restriction on the line 010 the one the is used to dial out (confirmed with bcm monitor).
The number dialled goes as follow, 8 to get a line the 011 *** *** ** ** **, then i get a pause of almost 4 sec then get the fast busy signal. So far I can't tell if i'm reaching to my voip provider so I can't determine is its the bcm the problem or the voip provider.

I see in BCM monitor: Line010 outgoing 011 *** *** ** ** **

Can anyone help?

BCM50 version 5.0

Go to dialling plan..look at international number length..change it to suit the number of digits you need to send out.

I have tried that in the public Network i have 8011 just incase and 011 set to 15 and also tried 16 didn't work!

Try adding 15 to the Default prefix at the bottom of that list to see if it works.

Still not working!
How do i find which one is the problem BCM or VOIP provider

Ok just used a voip software to dial and my voip provider connected the call. So that being said it's the bcm that is the problem!

Do you have 10 VoIP trunks? I just wonder why its grabbing line 010 is all.
Are you really using Pool codes or Dest codes with Routing?

If using Dest codes with Routing are you also using Routing Table in SIP trunking?

Is it only this one number that you can not dial or any number overseas?

Curlycord, you nailed it forgot to configure SIP external digit only 1 configured.

Thanks.

I have seen where some add 1 or 01 or 123456789 etc to that Routing Table
The key is to match Dest codes with the Destination digits and have Outbound Called Characters do the absorbing.

I proper setup would be like this assuming 2 digit Dest codes (which is more powerful then 1 digit):

Dialplan

- Dest code 91 use Route XXX - Absorb = 0

SIP trunking
- Public / Routing Table - Destination Digits = 91
- Public / Accounts / Advanced - Outbound Called Characters = 91

This way it does not interfere with other trunking route codes such as in H323.

On Monitor you will see:
9101144208XXXXXXX
However the Outbound Called Character will do the absorbing and ignore the 91.

I just remembered I did a FAQ on this.

Haven't done any sip on bcm but I have now looked at your FAQ..
Don't know how I missed that...

We'll done and a star for the effort.

Thanks dude...took me a little over 60 hours to set mine up so I dont want others to suffer like that.

SIP is fun!. There is much to learn on this feature. A few of us have managed to get it working via a SIP provider, but the "Absorb" part within the SIP area is what caught most of us out as it's not quite what you would expect.

I've been using a free service called Sipgate in the UK and it is still free to anyone outside of the UK. No credit card is needed if you are planning to make calls to another Sipgate user. Incoming works fine if you want to have your own UK number!.
