Just got my software pack today, I loaded it up on the backup server and noticed that all my servers are greyed out in available backup selections? plz dont tell me I need to buy more options from Veritas to back up the servers!

Also found out that I cant install the xchange agent b/c I'm running advanced server..

Well I installed the remote agent, and its still greyed out >sigh<

You still require License keys for each remote server you are backing up. See help/about in your Backup Exec application. You should see the remote agent key.
Also you should be still able to install the Backup Exec Exchange Option still.

If exchange is on a remote machine, you need to have the Exchange Administrator (5.5)or the System Manager (Exch 2000) installed on the Backup Server. You also need the Remote agent installed with Licensenumber. The Exchange Agent aslo needs a Licensenumber.

Yes, the remote agent is to be installed on the remote server (not the backup server). It is pushed out from the backup server

Hi I was wondering if you found the resolution for the problem you were experiencing on Backup Exec, the servers being greyed out, could you le tus know... Many Thanks
