first, thanks in advance for any help or to point out my erroring ways lol. I am pretty much just starting out in Unix scripting and looking at using ksh. I have loaded Uwin on my XP box and have access/own a couple of Ultra 10's (in the process of loading Solaris 10)

What I'm trying to do is script an .ini file and parse it for user data information. I was looking at creating an array and port it out for my website. I'm not sure about the way to attack it as I have at least 21 lines to read in per person. First line is the persons nick, the folling lines are data that I would like to put in the array. Since I'm new I'm not sure the array is the best way to handle this but hey...I've just started.

I'm reading through and have "Hands-On KornShell93 Programming" by Barry Rosenberg, which I find actually a pretty good read especially for a tech book. I know a little bit about Unix, since I use it at work I have to lol. I'm basically a MS person/admin but have found interest in most all OS's. I kind of need a mentor of sorts, I really should pick up a class but that might be somewhere down the line.
