[n] Outlook Express firewall, proxy with authentication ; solution

Greetings all.

Well, I am in the college network and we have firewall + proxy for internet connection. Proxy requires authentication.

Now, I searched on internet that OE or any email client doesn't provide POP3/IMAP/SMTP proxy authentication feature, isn't it?

Bottom line is, I need OE or any other email client to access POP3/IMAP/SMTP on internet (say fastmail)... what are the minimum things required to do that? So that I can ask my network admin to do that...
