this is one of the weirdest things I've seen.
Check out this page: i checked it in IE5.5 & 6 on PC, Safari & IE5 on MAC - it is all fine.

Not so with NS7.02 on both MAC & PC. While the page is on my hard drive, it displays great. But when I publish it on the server, it seems like the browser is just nto seeing the stylesheet AT ALL. the text and images are all there, but no style is applied to them, which makes the page un-usable. I have switched my relative link to the stylesheet to absolute (as well as added an import statement just to see), and everything is still fine in other browsers, so I know that the .css file IS on the server. Have anybody had this before? How do I get this fixed?

I noticed you are using both link and @import rule. Just for now, try removing the import rule and see what happens. IE et al understand the link tag just fine and usually you want to use the import rule when you are using css rules that may cause browsers other than IE to screw up such as pseudo references.

TechieMicheal,
i started out with just one plain
Code:
<link rel=&quot;stylesheet&quot; type=&quot;text/css&quot; href=&quot;resources/css/style.css&quot; />
everything else got added in attempts so solve the problem.

BUT the problem was in a totally different place - my host! Take a look at this: that explains it all.
Called up the host, got the MIME setting updated and voila!

Well, I submitted an FAQ for this rather interesting find. Of course you got full credit. :) It isn't a frequent question per se, but hopefully if it is approved, it will be of help to people. :)
