I support a Windows 2000 Network. There is a strange thing with one of the workstations of network.Although there is network connection after double-checking through DOS and pinging gateway and network card I cannot see the domain name option in logon windows box.So to log in I use only Administrator's local password.

Can someone tell me what on earth is goiniggon.

Thanks in advance

Are you sure you've joined as a member of the domain and have not accidentally joined a workgroup? Glenn

Go to the desktop and right click on "My Computer" go to "Properties". Click the "Network Identification" tab at the top of the propeties window. Then click the "properties" button. This will allow you to specify the domain that you want the workstation to be a part of. You must have administrative rights on the domain to add a worksation. It will prompt you for a user name and password.

Reboot and you will then have the option to log onto the domain or the local machine.

What OS is the machine that can't see the options? Glen A. Johnson
