I am a relative newbie to VB programming. I can create simple programs, no problem. Now I need to be able to make changes to existing programs--I have the source code, saved to a network. But when I open the code modules, the correct references & components are not set, so the component cannot load. Of course, the former programmer did not document what references were set when the program was written, & some of them are not very obvious. How do I discover what references/components to turn on to get the programs to work within the design environment.

Thanks in advance for the consideration.

If i got the problem,
From the menu Project,References you see on top all the used refs, which are checked. Then by the error messages you can fix some errors..

Hi Jackiev:

One place to look for References is in the VBP and VBG files. Open these files with a text editor and look for lines that start "Reference=".

Hope this helps,
