we made some networking changes today that required us to change the subnet mask on our exchange server.
email was unavailable after the subnet change so we rebooted, everything came up.
this evening I get phone calls that our people in china have received emails that were dated over a year ago!
now, I saw some more recent DNRs get delivered, i had some from a few weeks back myself, so I can understand if they were stuck in an queue and we rebooted that forced them to fail, but I know it hasnt been a year since we last rebooted.
so what would be the culprit? as far as i know these were all emails from a particular individual to another company in china, so they have that in common.
I looked in message tracking for email sent today, and sure enough I saw those emails with origination date of 2009 but being sent out today.
what else can I look at?
boss wants to know how this could happen.
