I have a norstar with 4.0 XC software running with the PRI software for caller ID. My East Mesa clinic is experiencing mystery 911 calls. I have set up the SMDR and find no ext#’s dialing 911. Yet today the police came to my clinic stating that someone called 911 and hung up. I am pushing towards a Qwest issue. What do you all think?

Thanks. Steve

do you have to dial 9 to get an outside line if so someone is fat fingering a long distance number. build a rout for 911 and make it 9911 with a dialout of 911 be sure to notify all users and make stickers for all phones informing of the 911 change

Did the police give you a specific number the call came from? Do you have ONI enabled on the sets? the police should also be able to tell you the time that the call was received from your clinic. with those two items you should be able to go back thru the SMDR records and see a short duration call on the suspect line.

Change access code to 8 change your least cost routing.

Yes the clinic does have to dial 9 to access an out side trunk.

The main number shows up on the 911 operators caller ID. That is because that is what we have Qwest post as the clinics main number.

The SMDR report doesn’t show any ext# call 911.

I had this problem once before with this same clinic years ago when they were on analog lines. When I switch them over to a T-1 with PRI that problem went away. I even switch the cabinet out befor I changed them over to a PRI-T1.

I am wondering if it is not the T1? The Receptionist stated that they were both on a call and then both of them were disconnected at the same time. This happen around 4:pM that afternoon but the 911 calls were one in the morning and the other around noon. They have not experienced any issues today.

Thanks. Steve

when someone make an external call and have to make 9 to get outside line, your SMDR will report only the digits who will be dialed on this line and you won't see the 9 for the access group.

Program your SMDR to report all calls who dial ''1 1'' and you will get your information...

Good Luck!!!
