Hi.

I was working on a new pc last night & noticed a really long passowrd that I remember seeing on one an emachine of my own a while back. I got rid, immediately of Norton, and thatmight be the case.

Their emachine is new & I couldn't get rid of the long, unknown password-kept coming back, save pass, not save pass, etc... on the dialup connection box. I set up three new connections & tried everything, but it was always there when connecting. Q: Why?

Oh yeah, something I had never seen; this lady is totally novice to computing all togetgher, but when she called complaining that she couldn't get on line, I was prompted with a dialog box that told me to pick up the reciever, press OK & hangup, and then a really odd squeak...nothing. They had a tech from here try for over an hour & said it was hardware. I had set there pc up & thankfully suggested we make a Restore Point...just thought that was different & maybe Norton or MS from all of the auto updating tbhey were ignoring...lol

Thanks guys,

Ok, so maybe it's a new security feature...maybe. It's an emachine, as stated, but she said that she tried to connect earlier with the long password & couldn't. I will await your answer & call her to see if she can try it again.

Q: Once you've saved a new password, although you don't seem to change any setting to get an "Apply" when finished, the password is still the entered one?

Thanks again.
