MySQLGui - Application Error on starting...

I've downloaded and installed MySQLGui 1.7.5-2 (Windows static) and can't get it to start. The splash screen comes up, then I get an application error saying that the "instruction at 0x0053AA34 referenced memory at 0x0017C000. The memory could not be written."

I see no mention of this in the archives. Does anyone know what's going on? I'm running Windows NT 4, SP6 on a Pentium 2 with 164MB RAM.
