Crystal Reports will work with almost any datasource ( i am reluctant to say all, as i am sure there is some odd datasoure that will cause it to choke, but i haven't found one yet) MSSQL, Access, Excel xls files, etc all work nicely for me. I would guess MySQL would also.
I've used Crystal Repors with a MySQL database. i installed the mySQL ODBC driver and then set up a connection using that. Works well, and mySQL really rockets.
Some restrictions as far as using some table joins, and it doesn't seem to have stored procedures, but a great free database.
