mysql server with hosting company

i was wondering...
if a website hosting company is providing us with 3 mysql db's, do i simply write the scripts & upload them inorder to run?
for instance, how do i invoke a particular command.
does anyone have any experience with this. or would you refer me to online resources that explain this process.

i can create/query commands manually, but how do i/ where do i upload scripts to do this automatically. i'll be using asp.net to do this.

The first thing you need to do is make sure the host is running Windows Servers, as Asp.NET is not compatible or supported under Linux.

Depends on what commands you want to run. PhpMyAdmin is a web based gui tools that can help you manage the db. You can run scripts thru it, upload files, add users etc.

For most DB admin type stuff, PMA is a great tool and offered by many hsots
