Using windows we recently backed up the contents of the mysql folder (where the tables are stored), the mysql is running on a linux machine.

We then replaced this folder after a crash, but the programs that access these tables tell us that they are 'Read Only',
we have changed permissions on the files but nothing has changed

any ideas???

cheers
