I just installed MySQL with Red Hat 9 (through the default rpm). What is the path to mysql and what is the default hostname, username (root?), and password (none?).

Thanks

Where? try "whereis mysql" or "find /usr -name mysql"... U can execute it from everywhere anyway.

Default hostname: localhost
Admin user: root
password: no password

you can change the root password with "mysqladmin".

Hope this help you.
