Hi,

I was working on MySql/PHP broker-type website for a small company that deals with electronic components.
They are planning to put online ~100,000 existing products in the beginning and add ~20,000 - 40,000 more a month.

Suddenly the owner of the company changed his mind and decided to buy e-commerce solution done with webDNA using webDNA database.
He asked me to evaluate this package.
I couldn't find any information on webDNA DB performance.
The guy who developed that solution is not sure that it will be able to handle millons of records as well as MySql.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

According to their webpage WebDNA is compatible with MySQL. If the developer used the ODBC driver and didn't use any outlandish proprietery SQL extensions (like MySQL is so fond of proliferating), why couldn't you put the database in MySQL?

But to answer the question, without knowing the DB behind the application, I doubt you'll get much in the way of performance comparisons.
