MYSQL Linked db

Hi, I have an access db which is linked to a MYSQL backend which works great, however I have found that everyone who wants to use it has to copy the whole thing to their desktop. It won't open for more than one person at a time when opened from the server. (Samba share - set to allow oppurtunistic locks). The access database is set to shared mode rather than exclusive.
Is there anything else I need to do to make this db multi-access? It is getting to be a pain when I need to update the app.
