Hi,
I have an mysql table that is indexed, and I want crystal to use this indexing. When I go into my Visual Linking properties, anything pertaining to indexing is grayed out.
I'm using v.8.5 Any ideas to get me started?

Thanks,
HC

Please provide more information as to what you are trying to do. Also describe the process you are using to go into Visual Linking properties.

You can try the following:

File > Options > Database > Use Indexes or Server for Speed

If this option is not already selected then select it and see if makes any difference.

Else please provide more info.

OK, my mysql database is connected by odbc, using MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.52.
Crystal connects to the mysql tables without a problem.

My problem is that I have added indexes to the mysql table, but I see no difference in crystal.

under Database => Visual Linking Expert =>Tables, Theres a button "Add Index" thats grayed out.

Under File => Report Options "Use Indexes or Server for Speed" is checked. "Perform grouping on Server" is also checked.

Under File => Options => Database Tab: same options are checked here.

I only have one table in the report. (no linking)
I'm using cr v.85

Thanks,
HC
