New to mysql and was wondering if when I start my mysql administrator and it says that the Mysql server is at 5.5.22
does that mean that my databases are considered 5.5.22 builds also. The client version is at 5.1.11. Just confused as to what version my databases are when considering support for them.
Thanks.

The Client is whatever application you are using to 'talk' to the server, in your case MySQL admin.

The 'server' is the running instance of MySQL that the client 'talks' to when querying.

databases don't really have a 'version' per se, just a version of the server that it was created on or by.
