I was wondering if anyone is aware of how big databases can be before mysql starts falling flat on its face.

I have been having problems with databases of around 600mb is this to be expected?

Should another databases programme be used.

A great many people are using MySQL with databases larger than that.

But many things influence the performance of a database server. For example, if you have an inefficient database schema, then a large database will slam the server. Want the best answers? Ask the best questions: TANSTAAFL!
