I have installed MySQL on Windows XP.

I cannot create a database. States that user does not have the PROCESS privilege and I cannot ADD or EDIT a user (no user in list).

Looked through all the Help files - just made things worse.

Suggestions?
Hints?

hmm...

is it installed to c:\mysql
if so, look in the BIN directory for something called winmysqladmin.exe

IF you've never started this before, it'll prompt you to set your values for the mysql.ini file.

Fill it in with your preferred user name and password (mysql deafault is root and no password)

BTW , have you tried loggin in with root ?
