mysql and coldfusion problem

Everytime I try to verify the database in the odbc manager in coldfusion, I get a message saying that the specified driver could not be loaded. Error code IM003. For the life of me, I cannot get the Merant mysql driver or the myodbc mysql drivers to work.

BTW: I am running linux with coldfusion server 5 and mysql 3.23.39 and myodbc 2.50.38.
