I came today at wrk and found my comp. hanging...yesterday
when I left my comp, I ticked the FlashGet Option, that when
it will download a file to automaticly Turn Off the computer but when I came the computer was ON with the message "Saving users settings".
Now i tried for several times to restart the computer..
and it won't shut down, the "Saving users settings..." appears
and that's it, nothin' happens, I have to push the restart button.
What's the problem ?

Try holding the power button for 5 seconds to turn it off.
This will do a 'cold-boot' of your system.

Hopefully, that will cure it. You might have to do the update again.

Have a look in the 'Application' section of 'Event Viewer'. If you see any USERENV errors then you need to install the User Hive Profile Cleanup service (see
This is "A service to help with slow log off and unreconciled profile problems" and delays the shutdown of the PC until the user settings have been saved properly from the HKEY_CURRENT_USER section of the registry to the SID for the logged on user in HKEY_USERS.

You may also need to change the registry so hung applications (during logoff/shutdown) are terminated automatically.

Copy/paste the following into Notepad then save as something like 'terminate-hung-apps.reg'. It doesn't really matter what you save the file as, just so long as the filename ends in '.reg'.

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]
"AutoEndTasks"="1"

Double-click on the file once it's saved, accept it into the registry then re-boot for the changes to take effect.

Hope this info helps...
