I set-up an Intranet Server and I used IIS 4.0. My server cannot be accessed by netscape browser and lower version of I.E. (except for I.E. 5.0). Please help, did I miss something with my configuration?

Nice to be able to help.

I had this exact same problem.

Its to do with security and passwords (Clear Text Passwords)

On the server end you need to Enable Clear Text Passwords instead of the standard encrypted pasword ...

Basically its a nice Microsoft NASTY to make our lives more complicated by using competitors software instead of 100% Microsoft EVERYWHERE.

I hope this points you in the right direction

Good Luck ...

why enabling clear text passwords ? why bother ? clear text = no passwords... it is NOT safe unless you implement SSL Peter Van Eeckhoutte
