My quotes come out as boxes!!

I'm having problems formatting my html newsletter.

I'm using a package supplied by my domain host to format and send a newsletter.

<p> I'm using 'quotes</p> works just fine

<p><EM>‘Stimulation of the mind or emotions'</EM></P>

produces boxes where I should see quotes. the same happens in a bullet list. I've tried &lsquo; to no avail.

Any ideas

you'll need to replace the special characters with straight quotes.

replace single-quotes with : '
replace double-quotes with : "

Hmmm How do I get single quotes?

I'm also having a problem with a - (minus sign) which in a bullet list also comes out as q square!

This sounds like a charcter encoding problem. Is the browser set to display western or unicode coding or what?

I think the user has to take the blame!

I retyped the test and all problems disappeared!
