My PRI project is almost done. Got incoming and outgoing working. Put all the PRI lines in pool 70 and when I dial 9 I get a PRI channel. All new DIDs used for testing work. But strange things happened. Can anyone explain how 2 extensions ended up with about a dozen of the PRI lines added without my doing it? One had a pool button?????????

Also, I rearranged cards prior to starting. Final arrangement was 800/024/100DS/800/MM. So my line order should be 801-808, 809-831, 832-839. What I ended up with is my 2nd 800 with line numbers of 833-840. Did I do something wrong? Is the missing line 832 a placeholder for a T1 config?

So what I really need advice on is how to finalize the handset buttons. These are all 4412s. So I have 12 line/feature buttn and 12 feature only buttons. I know all 8 line appearance buttons go. I know I will need a extension coverage button for the call answer operators to cover extension 100. Should I have a pool 70 button? I would like each covering extension to be able to handle no less than 3 calls.

The 100DS card is 24 trunks, the 24th one is the D channel, DON'T put that 24th trunk in the pool.

Why do you need a pool button?

Put 3 SA buttons and 1 SA-OO button on each set, and they can handle 3 calls and still be able to transfer one off.

Tommy - why do I need a pool button you ask? Well the system wanted one so bad it made it for me. This Magix has a mind of its own. I swear I added 833 and 834 to all 23 phones and then the system stripped 834 off without telling me why. Also, I could not do an inspect under Pools. Turns out the system erased my buttons and I have no explanation why. I did not put 832 in the line pool table, so I should be OK there.

General question - can an extension only park one call at a time?

If 833 and 834 are in the same pool, assigning either one to an extension will create a Pool button for the pool they are in. And removing either one will remove the pool button.

I think that you assigned 833, which created the pool button, and then when you thought you were assigning 834, you were actually removing the pool button instead.

I think you have it. Seems I was messing around with those two extensions for fixing (again) the RCF issue you helped me with the last time. It's good to know there is logic behind these oddities.
