My PC hangs for a while when playing MP3s

Hi Friends!

I have PIII 1ghz,256MB RAM, 30GB HDD, DVD drive etc,
using Windows 98 II edition
It was working fine, but now I have visited some of the hackers pages recently, if I start MP3 players or Music Juke box while online it hangs for a while when playing MP3s and I have noticed that some of the unusual programs are running like PPROXY,File Download when I press CTRL+ALT+DEL..
I have scanned my PC with Norton Antivirus 2001 (upto date)
and with Norton Utilities..also
what happened to my PC please advice me, ...

A suggestion only: Install a firewall such as the free ZoneAlarm. If you have any trojans trying to communicate, this will alert you and give you the choice to stop it.
Some programs also contain spyware, a feature of cracked software. It has been alledged that some legtimate programs such as Realplayer also 'phone home'. My suggestions are what I would try myself. If incorrect, I welcome corrections to my rather limited knowledge. Andy.
