In the late 1990s I bought a Nortel system with 4 or so phones and even had a doorbell module that would ring the phones as an extension. I moved into an apartment in 2002 and sold that house after removing the phone system. So, in this day in age where most systems are VOIP.... does this system have any street value? Or, put another way, if you owned this would you want to hook it up and use it now? Or move on to a FreePBX VOIP type system and sell the Nortel? Ideas?

Thanks!

Depends on what your needs are for a phone.
To have a "system" means in most typical high-rise apartments you need to run cables around your baseboards.
If that is the case then best to go wireless.

Wireless choices
-Use a mobile phone
-If you have a tablet or 2 (connected to wifi) close to you at all times then you could get a SIP line with a SIP app.
-Wireless phone system like a 3 phone package by Vtech as example (cheap)
-You can install wireless SIP phones (or SIP app on your mobile) to a voip system.

If you want desktop phones and have no cabling issues then figure out what features you need if the CICS wont meet them any longer.
Voip systems would be easier to install over the digital system because you will not needs specials tools or special amphenol cables.

Your system is not worth nearly as much as what you would have got for it in 2002.
Search the NT numbers on every part to get an idea.
