Hi there,

I'm probably missing something really easy/basic here. I've upgraded a workgroup to a 2003 server based domain with XP clients. One DC (it's a very small LAN) which acts as the DNS and WINS server.

All workstations can see each other and the server, however the server can't see anyone but itself in NN. You can quite happily ping by IP/NetBios name, map network drives etc. from the server but you just can't see anybody but yourself in NN.

Anyone got any ideas ranging from the simple to the totally bizarre??? :)

Make sure all are on the same default gateway and DNS server. You pc's should be pointing to your server for DNS.

Do you mean within the same subnet? If so, they are. Also, the PC's are all pointing in the right place for DNS.

Ok what is your IP address setup for your server and pc's? Also is there a router being used and what is doing DHCP?

The IP addresses are in the 192.168.0.0/24 range. Server is at 18 and the clients 1-17. No router is being used.
