The first card slot uses lines 1 through 24. The second card slot uses 25 through 48. The slots are uneversal slots that can except many defferent kinds of CO cards like: Standard 4 line CO, 4 line caller ID card, T1/PRI, BRI, DID, etc. So they reserve the numbering sequnce for the different kinds of cards. I hope this explains it.
You can always go into line programing and rename the lines.

thanks for the reply. from right to left the cards in the MICS are T1, T1,a combo card, and an empty slot. I understand that each card reserves 24 lines. But why would they jump from 004 to 025, are the ones in between reserved for something particular?
If you have any more help you can offer I'd greatly appreciate it.
01 through 24 are used for PRI/T1.
25 through 48 are used for PRI/T1.
01 through 04 are for standard and CID cards but reserve 05 through 24 for the T1/PRI. It is just a way to keep the number sequence standard. Like : 25 through 28 are for standard and CID cards but reserve 05 through 24 for the T1/PRI.
If you look at the FAQ section in this forum. It has a section on pinout of the cards that might help you visually.
If you have T1 lines. This is how to Install a T1:
You must have either a Services Cartridge (slot 1) or a 6-port Combo card (slot 2) in order to provide clocking for the T-1. Only one of these is needed, even if you have two DTI cards.
The DTI card should go into Slot 4 first. If you have a second card it would go into Slot 3.
You must disable the card first, program the card for T1. Then re-enable the card.
To Disable / Enable Card:
