Hello guys, I've got an Acer laptop running vista windows, I'm having a problem with the hibernation on my computer.. I've got my lid set for hibernation but sometimes I'm finding that when I come back to my computer later sometimes much later, over night, it didn't go into hibernation and the fan is running and my computer in so hot you can not even touch it... I'm scared I'm going to burn it up what can or should I do..

Thanks Marti

Try checking the Event Viewer under computer management for any related errors.

I've found that sometimes, some programs will keep a computer from going into hibernation. If you can find the culprit, you can disable, turn off, or uninstall that application. For instance, on my machine, occasionally the hp multifunction printer software would cause this.
