Hi
I had 2 worms (happy and watch) in my system and I made all that they said:
Update the Norton, and quarantied the 334 files infected.
Also.
- I edit the register as they said.
- I scan de hard drive
- i defrag the hard disk
- I delete tmp files
- I clear the cache
- I reinstall windows 98 again.
- and everything is smooth and looks ok.

BUT the keyboard still doesn't respond and even the printer! even with the reinstalled windows!
Could have the worms damaged those files relative to these items?
- No keyboard, no printer, the computer doesn't restart, doesn't restart in DOS mode.

I tried removing the keyboard, thinnking that when i turn the computer on again, the system reinstalls it again, but when it started reinstalling the keyboard, the computer got frozen.
Also, when I try to print a test by printer, also the computer gets frozen.
Please if you help me again I'd appreacite it so much,
Some one told me that it is probably a bis problem.

What do you think?

Eric

First of all, check your keyboard out on another machine to establish that it really IS working ok. You say you reinstalled Windows 98... Was this an over-the-top installation, or a wipe-the-disk-clean-and-start-again job? If the former, it is possible you still have a virus in your system. Assuming you've established the old keyboard is ok or you've bought a new one, try booting the machine up from switch-on with a KNOWN, CLEAN boot floppy disk in drive A:, i.e. guaranteed checked virus-free. At the A: prompt, can you type DOS commands now? If not, it suggests the keyboard controller on the mobo may be faulty. As a last ditch attempt, with the machine switched off, try clearing CMOS.

Good luck!
