My Internet Explorer quit working on the LAN ROUTER and all other stations are fine. I can ping the router and can ping all other systems. I had IE 4.0 so I upgraded to IE5.5 with no luck. Uninstalled all networking components and reinstalled. Still same thing. EXAMPLE: If I type in to go to the address msn.com it immediately says finding site in the lower left hand corner of my browser and converts the name msn.com to their correct IP address instead but will never resolve the address and eventually gives me a DNS error. This box is set the same as far as the gateway 192.168.0.1 just like all other stations??? I have had this happen before but can't remember what the fix was?? I completely removed Dial up networking since it is not used from the add/remove windows program and communications box. Any help greatly appreciated... Keith Buchanan

Are you running DHCP or Static IP Addressing on your network?

If running Static, make sure you put in a DNS server into the DNS server lookup section...

If running DHCP make sure you DHCP server is handing out the correct DNS server. Open up a command box and type ipconfig [windows nt/2000/xp] or open up the run line and type in winipcfg [windows 95/98/me]

If this is all correct, type in nslookup novell.com and see if it attempts to resolve the host name. If it does not then there is a system problem with how it resolves host names. Make sure the above is correct before you move on.

*end users are just like computers, some you can work with...others just need a simple reBOOTing to fix their problems.*
