my hijack log shows some entries that are questionable 2

The one for the missing file, absolutely. If you don't have a program named DXM6, yes, but make a good backup first. IMHO.

I would look in that folder and see if the file is there...it is a part of the OS. HJT is a good tool but not infallible. Check out the Google search for that file.
