i have the maxtor 200gb hdd and i cant access it because it has no format. Is there a way i can convert to NTFS without formatting my drive? or is there a way i can access my drive to copy my files?

Do you have another hdd? Maybe you can try copying data to the other hdd before formatting the current one?

Fight?

kbin - more details please. Are you saying you have been using it - and now can't access files you've saved. Or has it never been partitioned/formatted?

What operating system are you using?

Is the drive recognised in the bios?
