Hi,
My hard drive is acting really bad on me right now. I have a maxtor 250 gig that I made into an external drive and it has been fine for the past 4 months ive had it. But then today when i opened it from the desktop only a few of the folders will show up on it. All of my music is missing. So I ran chkdsk and it said a bunch of the sectors are unreadable. The strange thing is that all the songs I had on itunes will still play! And theyre saved on this messed up drive, yet I can't get any acess to them. So I know theyre still on there but I just cant get at them. Do you guys know any way I could at least get all my data off this drive and onto my C drive or something because I really do not want to lose all my music. If theres anything you can think of I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks very much.

I would go to the site of the maker of your disk and try to find diagnostic software. Run it and find out all the bad news.
Then, if the drive is bad, you need to purchase another one fast, and back up whatever you can.

Pascal.

As stated by Pmonett... Go to the Hddrv Mfg and get their uitily drive utitility and if they have a low level format option (you will lose all data) go for it. It will clear all data and let you start new.

Later...

Like a Monkey, the higher it climbs the more A** it shows...
