Someone or something is in my hard drive. I can barely do my job. Every few seconds the screen is switched to the finder. My job includes constant deadlines. Tech denies the invasion.
I need any suggestions of excellent software to knock the agency (or person) off my hard drive (and possible keep off). There are a lot of software on Version Tracker, but would like expert advice. Beside telling what not to do. In short stop watching trailers, going on ebay or anything other site that leaves nasty things on my hard drive. Yes I am a bit desperate.
Oh I know that tech should be helping, but this is a hands on kind of place and noone else has this much of a problem. So I am doing something very wrong. No files haven't disappeared (thank goodness). And no I haven't opened any bad e-mail.

Which OS version are you using?

Do you have the same problems when you aren't connected to the network? i.e Unplug your network cable and switch off WiFi (and Bluetooth if it's on).

OS X 10.5 (Leopard) has a handy screen sharing utility built in that's great for playing pranks. Make sure it's off by going to System Prefs and Sharing. Then untick the box that says Screen Sharing.

What happens if you login to another user on the computer? Does it do the same thing?

Since virus' are not prevelent for the Mac OS, you could be experincing malwareor some sort of OS failure.

Does your company use Apple Remote Desktop? Just like screen sharing it is a great way for somebody to play tricks with end-users.

What version OS and are you getting any error messages, things like that would be helpful.

Who gave the stars? What was the actual problem and how did you fix it?
It's good for other people to know!

It's always nice to get a star, but I think that it is more gratifying to know what fixed the issue. Thanks for the star, let us know how you fixed your problem, it may prove helpful to some other user down the road.
