I have setup one of my Win2k PC's as an FTP site.
Using Road Runner as ISP
Toshiba PCX1100 Cable Modem
Using Linksys BEFSR11 Router forwarded ports 20/21, 2000-2010 mapped them to IP of FTP machine.
Using Serv-U FTP V4.1.0.0
All appears to work fine with uploads of downloads no larger than 10-15mb.
Anything file transfers larger than this shuts down my Cable modem, thus requiring a powerdown of modem.
After powering modem back up all works fine again.
This has become a real headache as I have 5 other systems on this network. I as of yet have not been able to determine the root cause of this problem. Anyone with any ideas or suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks all

This has happened to me often. I never found a way around it. Usually what happens is that my FTP client hangs, and I have to log in again and start over. When I ran Win98SE, it killed the server and I had to reboot it to get it back. With Win2K it doesn't lock my server, so I can just login again with the FTP client. But I have had this problem with large files, too. I think it's an AT&T issue, lovely people that they are.

BTW, they don't allow FTP, email or web servers, so don't call in and complain to them, or you may end up shut down completely. Newposter
