Hello
Please does anybody know why a form stops allowing data to be keyed in to it's fields?

It is a form that adds records to tables in my Access database. I have recently added another table to the database which links to a table that is on the form. It will not allow any of the fields to be populated.

It comes up with the error message

Error 3348
Cannot add record(s); join key of table 'Application' not in recordset

Any help would be greatly appreciated

This message comes about when you try to add records to a "many" side join table, you have implemented referential integrity, and you have NOT set a value for the KEY field on the ONE side. Thus, you can not add any new records to the MANY side, thus the blank form.

In other words, you can not add a child without naming the parent key.

Revise the query that you use for your form to include the JOIN KEY up on the ONE side of the relationship, and you should be ok.

Don't be sexist - Broads hate that.
