My drawing suddenly becomes Read-Only while I am in it.

My co-worker and I have been recently been working on drawings for a project. We opened the drawing we were working on did NOT say it was "Read-only" or opened by anyone else in the office. However, after working in the drawing for a little bit and then going to save what we did we would get a error message saying; someone else is in the drawing. When we hit Okay, then we get another message saying we can't save our drawing because it is a read only. Then our drawing becomes a "read only" drawing. After doing tests, this happened once or twice when someone else opened the drawing while we were in it. But most of the time, no one else was opening the drawing.

Any solutions?

Can you supply more details.

Are the files local or on a network drive ?

If networked, what is the Network OS ?

What version of AutoCAD are you using, and what OS ?
