Just a minor irritant... every time I launch windows explorer, the My Documents folder expands showing all sub-folders. I have about 40. Does anyone know where I can change this so it does not expand the folder?

I always launch explorer with the <Windows> E key combination. I presume no shortcut is used.

You can of course create a new keyboard shortcut. For example, clicking on a blank area of the desktop, New, Shortcut, and adding:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, C:\

It will open explorer on the My Computer folder, with selection on the C: drive, and optionally can be assigned a hotkey.

To modify the action of Winkey+E is not possible, I think. But see:

I use a shortcut in the taskbar. I pasted this into the target field in properties and got exactly what I wanted.

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, C:\

Thanks bcastner!

kiddpete - I never use the windows key... I'm still stuck in the windows 3.11 for workgroups world... or is it DOS.. Old habits die hard. Thank you, as well.
