I tried to move a folder from the "My Documents" folder under Desktop to the "My Documents" folder under the local drive. The folder moved and shows up where I put it but I can no longer access it. It gives me an "unavailable volume" error. I tried system restore and it won't allow me to pick a date to restore to (even though it is set up to work). I've tried moving it back to and it won't let me do that either. ANY help would be appreciated.

Perhaps you could use the Recovery Console and move it that way. Or you could try taking ownership of the file in XP (if you can access it).

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP (Q308421)

What would help in this situation is to know the exact error message you are getting.

Thanks. I was able to solve the problem. Appreciate the insight.
